Swipe-Based Art Discovery:
Much like the Tinder model, Swap Hero’s mobile app needed to focus on a swipe-right/swipe-left functionality, allowing users to indicate interest in a piece of artwork. The interface had to be responsive and fast, ensuring that users could browse seamlessly through hundreds of art pieces without any lags or disruptions.
Personalized Matching Algorithm:
The app required an intelligent matching algorithm that would recommend pieces based on user preferences, behavior, and interests. The algorithm had to be able to learn from users’ interactions and continually refine the art recommendations it presented.
Secure Trading Mechanism:
Swap Hero wanted an in-app negotiation system where users could communicate directly and securely about trades and swaps. The process needed to be smooth and hassle-free, enabling users to swap artworks safely without third-party involvement.

Swap Hero wanted to disrupt the space with a fresh, interactive concept: a Tinder-style platform for artwork trading. The challenge was not only to create a platform that was visually appealing but also to integrate complex functionalities like matching, user preference algorithms, and secure trade negotiations—all while maintaining a simple and intuitive user experience.
Swap Hero’s primary goal was to break down the barriers of traditional art exchanges and create an accessible, user-friendly platform that connected users across geographical boundaries. How We Tackled It
Cross-Platform App Development with Flutter
We chose Flutter for developing the Swap Hero app due to its versatility in creating beautiful, high-performance cross-platform mobile applications. With Flutter, we were able to build a visually stunning interface that allows users to swipe through art effortlessly. The fluid animations and swift response times of the swipe functionality were key in creating an enjoyable user experience.
.NET for Backend Infrastructure
The app’s core functionality, including its trading and negotiation systems, was built using .NET for its scalability and performance. The backend supports secure, real-time communication between users, enabling them to negotiate trades within the app without delays or security concerns.
MsSQL for Data Management
For efficient data storage and retrieval, especially with user profiles, galleries, and preferences, we implemented MsSQL. This ensured that users’ data, such as their selected artworks, trade history, and personalized settings, were managed securely and retrieved quickly, contributing to a smooth, responsive experience.
Building a Smart Recommendation Engine
We implemented a machine-learning-based recommendation system that analyzes users’ preferences, such as the styles, colors, and types of art they frequently engage with. By tracking swipes, likes, and trades, the system learns over time to deliver more relevant and personalized artwork recommendations, enhancing user satisfaction and increasing engagement.
User Profiles and Trading System
We developed customizable user profiles where individuals can showcase their artwork, creating their own virtual gallery. The trading system allows users to communicate securely, negotiate swaps, and finalize trades all within the app, fostering a trustworthy community environment.
